Stage I of the QEIIMC redevelopment is due for completion in 2015 and includes the construction of a New Children’s Hospital, a Western Australian Institute for Medical Research facility, PathWest facility, an expanded SCGH Cancer Centre and a new Mental Health Unit. A new Central Energy Plant and a multi-deck car park will be built to support the expansion of the site.
Central Energy Plant (CEP)
A new CEP was built on the western side of the campus to replace the existing Energy Plant. It is required to meet the increasing demands of current and planned new services on site, including the New Children’s Hospital. Construction began in February 2011 with GCS's works commencing in May 2011.
