QEII Medical Centre (Multi-deck car park)
Scope of Work for GCS:
- Scaffold and Access Solutions - 450 tonne;
- Formwork - 80,000m²;
- Concrete Placement - 24,000m³;
- Plant and Equipment;
- Site Accommodation;
- Traffic Management;
- Temporary Fencing;
- Additional On-site Personnel; and
- Peak Workforce - 100.
One of Perth’s largest medical, research and education facilities.
The QEII re-development is a major capital works program, forming part of the State $5 billion investment in health care building projects over the next four years.
Stage I of the QEIIMC redevelopment is due for completion in 2015 and includes the construction of a New Children’s Hospital, a Western Australian Institute for Medical Research facility, PathWest facility, an expanded SCGH Cancer Centre and a new Mental Health Unit. A new Central Energy Plant and a multi-deck car park will be built to support the expansion of the site.
Multi-deck Car Park
The multi-deck facility hasdeliver more than 3,000 parking bays, a childcare centre, retail space and a café. Significant work has been done to ensure the car park is well located and designed to limit traffic impact. Construction began in September 2011 and was be delivered in two stages. Stage 1 was completed in October 2012 - 4 months ahead of planned completion. Stage 2 was completed in October 2013 - again, 4 months ahead of schedule.
